PhD Computer Science

PhD in Computer Science is a research-intensive doctoral program aimed at developing advanced expertise in computing theories, algorithms, and emerging technologies. The program focuses on original research, innovation, and scholarly contributions in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, cyber security, computer networks, and distributed systems. Scholars work closely with supervisors to produce high-quality research publications and a dissertation that addresses real-world and theoretical challenges. Graduates are prepared for careers in academia, advanced research institutions, and high-level industry roles requiring deep technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.



Course Work

Six (6) courses must be completed (18 credit hours). To be completed within the first two years.  

Comprehensive Examination

The comprehensive exam must be passed within a maximum of two attempts. Successful completion is required to proceed further.  

Proposal Defence

The scholar must appear in the proposal defence. The defence will be conducted before a committee designated by the DASR.  

Dissertation

Registration for ten (10) dissertation credit hours (30 credit hours) is required.  

Foreign Evaluation

The thesis will be sent to foreign evaluators before the final defence.  

Final Open Defence

The scholar must appear in the final defence. The defence will be conducted before a committee designated by the DASR.  

Time Limit

All requirements for a Doctoral degree must be completed as per HEC Criteria.
